Birks
Ken Birks is an ordained pastor,
prophetic Bible teacher, and author whose
ministry has shaped lives for over four
decades. Known for his balanced, passionate
teaching style, Ken carries a deep burden to
see the Body of Christ rise into the
fullness of Ephesians 4:13—walking in unity,
maturity, and divine purpose.
He is semi-retired, focusing on writing and
also serves as a wedding and funeral
officiant in the Sacramento Region, and has
been married to his wife Lydia for 46 years
plus.

Reclaiming the Wonder of the
Gospel
This is a sermon teaching on Galatians 5 within the “Grace and Glory” series, focused on reclaiming the wonder of the Gospel by rejecting performance-based Christianity and embracing Spirit-led freedom in Christ. It explains Paul’s warning against returning to legalism, showing that “falling from grace” means setting aside Christ’s sufficiency and quenching the Spirit by relying on human effort, religious badges, or self-sufficiency. The message contrasts the works of the flesh with the fruit of the Spirit, arguing that true righteousness, transformation, and revival come not through striving but through walking in the Spirit. It presents the fruit of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control—as supernatural evidence of Spirit-empowered living and as the essential atmosphere for genuine revival in the church.
